Chiaki would’ve been more than upset if he hadn't gotten used to running into an obstacle at every turn. This wasn’t any different, it seemed as if he and Kanata had sought out every option they had, yet every time they came out empty handed.
That didn’t mean it was impossible! As long as his passion stayed unwavered, and he had his comrades (in this case Kanata) the impossible would become possible! …well, in the ranges of logic and reality of course. Which were kinda beginning to blur with all of these magical shenanigans.
As Kanata sat on the bed, Chiaki paced around the room, hiding it much easier to brainstorm and think with his body actively moving.
Right, this wasn’t exactly the easiest situation to deal with. However, this isn’t the first time they’ve gone through something like this —which might be the reason why this is more frustrating, as for some reason they don’t have a cure, nor do they know the cause. But let’s think positives here!--- so, theoretically, it should be easier to break the spell.
Break. Right. he managed to break the spell befo–
The knock on the door drags him out of his thoughts, and he runs to open it. Although he wishes they had a bit more time, he’s still grateful for Nagisa’s help, which he shows through thanks as he waves him off and allows Kaoru inside the room.
Chiaki thanks every god out there who allowed Kaoru’s back to face him as he walked past him, because only they’d know what kind of ugly laugh he would’ve let out. He takes a moment to let it die down, welling his smile down by smacking his cheeks a few times before turning to face the room.
With wide eyes, he stares at the small device in the blonde’s hand. The accusatory tone didn’t make his guilt any better, and he worries at his lower lip. At least hearing that he’s going to call his sister rather than his father was a great relief.
“You’re uh–.. You’re gonna tell her… what, exactly?” good job, Morisawa.
